Social Media Management :101

Sooooooo, you need to start using social media platforms for your new business, but you don’t have the means or resources to hire professional help?! No problem! Now, there are definitely those companies that have awesome & naturally vibrant owners who benefit from managing their own social media. It definitely helps you build a brand while keeping in touch with the demand of your audience. This will definitely help you guys out as well! – Below are a few simple random tips & points to think about when it comes to creating & operating social media platforms for your business.

Let’s get ta work!!!

I. Know, check & keep your company’s digital footprint clean! TT Research yourself online along with any other titles remotely similar to that of your business. Today there are tons of apps available that help you keep up with more than one social media account, which is a beautiful thing!  Always pay close attention to detail (i.e.: verifying which account you’re logged into before hitting the send button), and be sure to never post sensitive personal opinions, photos, etc. on your company’s social media that doesn’t match the philosophy of your company. Think twice! Turning off prospect business is a ‘No, No!’ Unlike a personal page, you should plan & schedule social media post.

II. Control your company’s online serachability. Be sure not to stunt the growth of your business online. A common way companies do that is by filtering who can search them. Be open to the public! Don’t limit the distance of how far your company/ brand can travel and to whom it may reach.

III. Keep business/ company profile pics appropriate. A sure fire way to lose some of your online audience is by posting images that aren’t consistent with the company’s message or philosophy. Its important for companies online to be transparent & edgy to some degree, but at the same time always keep it professional. Prospective clients are always watching & they will do research. Once its online, it’s a wrap! Period

IV. Google Alerts! Type in topics or words into Google Alerts that relate to your business/ company for daily news updates. This is a great tool to use if you plan on posting every day to social media and need relatable content. Another great thing about this tool, is that you too will have a higher chance of trending with other popular media sites posting on the same topics. (Also see: TweetBeep, SocialMention, & TalkWalker)

V. Keep track of your company’s online performance. Every ‘Like, Shared link, Post & Comment‘ means something! There are many sites and tools that help. Although, not all are free, they can track and measure social media accounts’ activity & help with building charts/ graphs. Find one that works for you & your business, and use it! This data is very professional and a great way to report on translating your company’s reach & influence. (Also see: HootSuite, WhoSay)
